Yes, I finally made it !! A once in a lifetime chance to meet my favourite idol in person.

Jacky cheung was here yesterday at Bugis Junction for his autograph session and to promote his latest album – 在你身边. This is the first time i m queuing up for such fanfare, was filled with excitement and I have to persuade my hubby to come along with me as well.

I lbegin to listen to Jacky's songs when I was in primary school. My two brothers are both ardent fans of jacky, so I was 耳濡目染 even at such a young tender age. I still remembered very well the evergreen classic and also my all time favourite – 月半弯. Since then, I have begin to fall in love with Jacky's songs.

Jacky's has a great vocal. A vocal that is so unique and has such great healing and soothing power. His songs accompanied me thro’ my life. I listen to his album 吻别when I first started my job in DBS bank. Even when I went to UK to further my studies, I can keep listening to this one song – 失眠夜 all day/nite long. My eldest brother sung 你知不知道 at his wedding nite to my sis in law. And even for my wedding march-in song – I pick this song 真爱. His songs are always associated with me with fondly memories.

I know that Jacky is already into his semi retired mode. I know that if I miss this chance, I will live with this regret in life. 人因梦想而为大. Therefore, I have decided to go for it. At the risk of being mocked by my friends/family. We end up queuing for 2 hours, to finally get to see him in person, handshake with him and to get his autograph on our CD. A temporal 5 secs moment is going to last me for a lifetime memory. It is definitely worth all the effort

认真的男人最有魅力. Despite signing for the umpteenth times. There is no single trace of tireness in him. And he is forever wearing a great amiable smile. 不愧是天王- he is so undaunted by the long quene. And the best part is…his signature is so consistent even after signing for that long hours. I guess I shouldn’t be complaining too much for the mere two hours queue.

Special thanks to my no-nonsense hubby for fulfilling my dream, i will always remember what I say to Jacky last nite in person. Alto it is simple two words of 加油, it was an electrifying moment for me. Such a 近距离的接触, 历历在目

Anyway, while waiting for my turn to be up there, I have made use of this time to write this surviving guide for all those great fans out there who belong to the 追星一族

Surviving guide to fan club

1. take leave
Depending on how popular is your idol. Sometimes, it is better to be wise to take leave so that u can chop a good place.

2. buy cd
That is the passport to any such events. Even if you forgot, nevermind. Look out for such booth, i am sure you can buy them there

3. bring umbrella
For rain or shine, m sure it will come into handy

4. pack/"ta-bao" food
I am sure you do not want to be in the limelight for creating a scene when u faint. Anyway, u can eat and queue at the same time.

5. bring camera
Do remember to charge your camera and test it before it is too late. Another alternative is to make friends there and then who can help you take pictures. But do remember to get their email just in case

6. bring a book/mp3/handheld games
Just to kill time, do something useful

7. make some friend/bring a friend
In case if the process gets a bit bored. It will be good to have someone along. Or better still, make friends there and then, afterall, we are rooting for the same idol. Sure got common topics to talk

8. be prim and proper
Bound to spot media and press reporter. Have to look good in any circumstances, you never know if you friends/family will spot you in TV.

9. bring a portable fan
Singapore with such a hot climate plus the long hours of queueing, a portable fan will sure be a plus point

10. go toilet
If you do not want to miss your turn, go and answer the nature call before it is too late

Meet my favourite Idol in person - 张学友

Today is a day full of anticipation. I wonder if i will get to meet my 偶像 in person. He is none other than...JACKY CHEUNG.
Will my dream come true.......please stay tuned !!!!

Songs that i remembered at my friend's wedding

This year, 2007, i will be busy attending my friend's weddings. It is actually a joy for me to attend wedding esp friends whom are close to our hearts. Besides able to doll up pretty on such occasion, i would get to share the excitement of their nuptial bliss as well. The only challenge for me is because i m starting a detox programme, so i have to give the food a miss, but other than that, i would love to attend wedding dinners. I have about 5 to run, starting this coming sat, 17 March - Cheryl Tang.

Suddenly, i realised a fact. How many of us do remember what wedding march that our friends uses at their wedding. For me, i do make an effort to pay attention to some of them. And quite surprisely, i am able to name a few quite effortlessly. And these are quite some time ago :)

1. On my university mate, aka Cousin Yun wedding - It was a chinese piece by one of my favourite singer - Ricky Ren. The wedding march was this song "爱的路上只有我和你". I remembered so well cos' she really has an "extraordinary" wedding marchin, and i remembered that was my first oversea wedding dinner that i attended :)

2. On my secondary mate, Joycelynn Foo wedding - It was L.O.V.E
I always remembered her wedding cos' it was there that i got to fall in love with her wedding gown, and i used the same designer for my own wedding gown as well

3. On my colleague and sis in christ, Patricia Pang wedding - It was Shania Twain piece "From the moment on". That was the first church wedding that i attended. I always remembered pat's blissful look when she walked in the aisle. And i still remembered i wore a black and white long dress at her wedding dinner at Mandarin Hotel

4. Another colleague and sis in christ, Poh Choo wedding - Perfect Moment by Martina Mcbride. I remembered that time, the show 流星花园 is very popular and every girl simply love the show so much. And our very girly poh choo was one of them. And i always remembered her expression when she told me that she is going to use that song Perfect Moment for her wedding cos' this is the 片尾歌 for that show :)

5. Of course not forgotting my own wedding march, i used two songs for the first march in - none other than my fav jacky cheung - 真爱 & the second march in is Fallen by Lauren Wood. My two all time favourite songs

Anyway, no matter what, i just like to wish all my friends whom are tying the knot this year all my best wishes and enjoy the nuptial bliss always
